Luntz served as president of the Temple-Tifereth Israel in Cleveland from 1950-1960, and supported a wide assortment of civic, cultural, medical, religious, and benevolent groups in Canton and in Cleveland. Kilroy went to law school and represented the Padraig Pearce Center of the Irish American Club East Side, Inc. during its establishment. He was also active in the Cleveland Irish Players, a theatre group that was founded by Kevin McGinty and produces Irish plays by Irish playwrights. He was a regular contributor to the Ohio Irish Bulletin and other newsletters. It was originally named the University Neighborhood Centers and was operated by the School of Applied Social Sciences of Western Reserve University as a training program for graduate students while providing a full range of community services and activities. In 1936 it changed its affiliation to the Welfare Federation of Cleveland and its name to the University Settlement. Most of the groups stem from Central and Eastern Europe, with a majority of the pamphlets focusing on Polish culture. The collection reflects the history of immigrants to the region and documents their social, cultural, and religious activities. The station received one of the first FM broadcasting licenses in the United States in 1946, and this station became WMMS in 1968. Ownership and broadcasting formats of these stations has changed multiple times throughout their existence, and in 1996 WHK was sold to Salem Communications and WMMS was sold to Nationwide Communications. In 1997 WHK and WHK-FM adopted a Christian format and eliminated all local programming. In 1915, Rose formed Wm. G. Rose, Inc., his own advertising and public relations firm. He managed numerous fairs and expositions, including the first Cleveland Electrical Exposition (1914), the Gordon Bennett International Balloon Race and Aerial Carnival (1930), the Great Lakes Exposition (1936-1937), and the Cleveland Sesquicentennial (1946). In 1916-1917, Rose chaired the group which promoted and ultimately secured passage of a bond issue financing the construction of the Cleveland Public Auditorium. He served on the board of Hiram House, a Cleveland social settlement founded by George Bellamy in 1896, and belonged to the American Press Humorists and the Cleveland Athletic Club. Under the direction of Jane M. Picker and Lizabeth A. Moody, the organization secured attorneys and provided funding for litigation related to women's issues. Most notably, the fund supported LaFleur, et al. v. Cleveland Board of Education, et al., a case that reached the U.S. Supreme Court in a landmark ruling concerning mandatory maternity leave for female employees. In the 1990s the fund focused on female age discrimination and discrimination faced by American women employed overseas by American companies. The Women's Law Fund disbanded in 2006.
